Drama is a form of written literature
which is either prose or verse , usually in dialogue form that is intended for
performance . The word drama is originated from the Greek “drain” meaning “to
do”. Therefore, we can say that drama is usually associated with the idea of
action .Dram is generally thought of as a storing about events in the lives of
characters. When talking about drama, we should also understand some words that
are derived from and often associated with the drama.

Dramatic the ideas of conflict, tension,
contrast, and emotions that are usually connected with drama.

Dramatic art components necessary for
writing and producing the drama, such as play writing, acting, and cost me and
back ground setup.

writers to develop to develop their for performance.
Play, this term originated from the middle
Dutch word “pleien” leap for joy” ,
“dance” . A play is form of literature written by the playwright play usually
consist of dialogue between the characters intended for theatrical performance
rather than just reading .however the term “play “is often used t refers to the
written work of the playwright (script)as well as on stage production.
DEFFERENCE OF PLAY FROM DRAMA
1. Drama
refers to a form of written literature that is intended for performance while
plays refers to a theatrical performance. In simple word a drama is to be read
and play is to be seen.
2. The
audience has their own interpretation of the drama whereby the reader read the
written material and come up with own
interpretation of the artists While play presents the interpretation of the
artists after get knowledge from drama or after read the written work
(drama)action to be performed.
3. Drama
is Greek word which is “drain” means “to do “where by drama associated with
action of the actor .While play is middle Dutch word “pleien”which means leap for joy of the characters on the
stage where by the play audience can observe .the writer of the play is known
as dramatist.
4. In
drama the character live out a story without any comment of author, providing
the audiences and direct presentation of character s life experience. While in
the play the characters are within the
action on stage , performing and the audience around them see what they perform
Aristotle (384-322BC) was a Greek philosopher
and scientist. He was the first to analyze and write about the essential
elements of drama more than 2000 years ago, and guess what? His work still
widely accepted as model for modern dramatic form. While ideas have changed
slightly over the year, we still discuss. Aristotle’s list when talking about
what makes for great dramatic literature. These elements are; Prot, character,
thought, diction, music and spectacle which are discussed below.
Plot
According
to Aristotle plot is character revealed by actions; and described the asic
triangle-shaped plot structure which has a beginning, middle and end

this is the future possibilities for the character therefore the plot of the
story is a series interconnected events in which every occurrence has a
specific purpose. A plot is all about establishing connection suggestions
causes and showing. This is the order of events that make up a story.
CHARACTER
Is
any person, animal or figure represented in literary work. there are many types
of characters that exist in literature each with its own development and
function. The general purpose of character is to extend the plot. many stories
employ multiple types of characters. There are protagonist or antagonist,
dynamic or static character, and round or flat characters
THROUGHT
This
is the central idea or theme of the play, used by the playwright to illustrate
some truth. This is the inner push of the playwright that lead to the play or
drama.
DICTION
This
is language used by the play as right including the style, dialect, rhythm and
actual word used by the characters.
MUSIC
Everything
the audience hears from the play including the words, music and second effects
Aristotle contends that Drama or play should be involves with singing, using
music all instruments to increase a beauty of the literary work.
SPECTACLE
This
is the everything the audience sees, including scenery swordplay. These are
about all actions doing by the actors on the stage. The audiences watch and
obtain experience from what he or she watched from.
Other element of drama
There
are several elements of drama which are not discussed by the Aristotle which
are; Dialogue or Menology stage directions, Scene and Cast of characters
A dialogue is
a literary technique in which writers employ two or more character to be
engaged in conversation with one another. This commonly found in drama where by
characters speech on turn. It is a conversational passage or a group or between
two characters directed towards a particular subject.
Stage direction. Part of the script of a play that tells the
actors how they are to move or to speak their line. Enter, exist, and exeunt
are stage direction. (Dictionary of cultural Literacy).
Scene,
the action that take place in single setting. And almost the scene discussing a
single event.
Cast of
character, This is list of all actors used by the playwright to employ the
intended massage the audience or readers the literary work. These appear before
the starting of the drama or play.
Conclusion
Play and dramas are literary work that
composed to cope the experiences which are ongoing in the societies for the
sake of abolishing for the bad behaviors that can lead to the establishment new
and modern world.
Also
play and drama used social functions acting as the vehicle of disseminate or
spread culture of the people (documenting and preserving) and sharing these
cultural aspects to other people. In other word it entrain people when actors
acting on the stage and when playwright compose his or her work by using
language device that to aesthetic to the people or audience.
