The Arusha declaration

The Arusha declaration of 1967 on February under the late presdent Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere announced and committed Tanzania to be a socialist state and self reliance in order to build our development by using national national resources which exist within our nation. The natural resources include land, minerals, oil and water and also the use man power. Mwalmu J.K. Nyerere decided to adopt the principal of socialism and self reliant after having five years of independence but still Tanzania faces number of economic, social and political problems even thoukagh the country had increase in agricultural production.
The Arusha declaration divided into five parties which are
The TANU Creed, under TANU the main purpose of policy is to build a socialist state and t respect the humanity they believed that all human being are equal, everyone had right to dignity and respect, every one is the part of nation and has the right to take part in government, also all have right of freedom of expression, movements and religious beliefs. Also to see the government mobilize resources so as to eliminate poverty, ignorance and diseases.
The Police of Socialism, according to Mwalmu Nyerere defines four features of socialism state which are, First, absence of exploitation in true socialist state there is no classes of people means the lower class and upper class and there people who have a right to depend on others small children, elders and crippled. Second the major means of production and exchange are under control of peasant and workers. This means production and exchange such as land, forest, minerals, banks, industries, arms and export trade. In order to control socialism the government should cooperate with them Third the existence of democracy there is no true socialism simply because the major means of production and exchange are controlled by government. Fourth socialism is a belief, is to believe and practices socialism principals for those who believe in socialism.
The policy of self reliance, according to this policy in order to achieve the development in all aspect we should depend on our on by using our people to work hard in our land because is so fertile and get surrficient rain which can help us to produce different crops such as maize, rice, tea, wheat, sisal and coffee also our land is good for grazing cattle, goats, ship and chickens apart from that we can get fish from our rivers, lakes and ocean. This is possible when we have a  good polices and good leadership so by doing that we can produce for home consumption and for export if we produce in large quantities, so this will help us to invest in other economic sectors like industries for manufacturing of different goods.
Another thing is to increase working hours for instance people should work for 12 houres or 14 per day instead of 8 hours per day even on Sunday and public holidays we should work so as to contribute to our development and lastly we should increase our tax so as to get enough money for investment of development on our own instead of depending on the external finance which violate our independence as a free state.
The TANU membership, under this part Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere eemphasis all about the importanc of having good leadership also the leader principal and objectives of TANU also emphasis that TANU is a party of peasant and workers.
The Arusha resolution, this emphasis more about leadership ethics by providing the requirement fot instance TANU and government leader must be worker or peasant should not associated with capitalism and feudalism, should not hold shares in any company and also should not receive to or more salary. lastly the should emphasis government to improvement things which have been placed.
Generally, what we see now days is the outcomes of Arusha declaration for instance our current president have a slogan HAPA KAZI TU this is among of condition for development which enacted during Arusha declaration by Mwalimu JK Nyerere also the issues of increase of tax and working hours we see nowadays is already exist during Arusha declaration.
