              Literature:   Is the work of art that uses creative and imagitive language to reflect social reality in the society. Therefore literature contain trisect in art but arts is broader them literature. Literature is regarded as work of art because it has social reality, language in literature violent rules of common language used in daily communication.
              Literary theory: Is the comprehensive and critical approach of law chided lining what literature is. Theory gives a learner the origin development and essential qualifies of what is called literature. Theory helps reader to tell whether the book he/she is reading has literary characteristics or not those theory includes: Formalism, Fermium, sociological, Marist, reader, response theory, structuralism and deconstruction theory. Therefore literary theory is the tools of interpreting literary work it offers frame work for which literary book are analyzed.
            Literary criticism: Refer to close reading, explication and evaluation of work of art literary criticism is not an abstract intellectual exercise. It is a natural human response to literature. The discipline of literary criticism is nothing more than discourse spoken or written about literature. It is a byproduct of the reading process. According to the Rutledge dictionary of  literature terms(2006) to criticize: meant  “to analyze and later to judge” literary criticism offers new ways of thinking about literature and what is involved in reading critically.
The following are the relationship between literature, literary theory and literary criticism:
              Literary criticism is the application of literary theory to a literary text. Whether or not a given arctic is aware of the theoretical assumption informing his/her interpretation. A brief distinction between literary and literary criticism is necessary here.  Strictly speaking, when we interpret a literature we are doing literary criticism but when we examine criteria upon which our interpretation rests were or applying literary theory in other words.
               Literary criticism relies on literary theory for efficient judgment or interpretation. That is to say literary theory provide guide time to critic that criticize literary works. The critic is guided by the theory to provide good criticism of the literature.
               Literary theory and criticism discovered within discipline.  Literature was there but later an scholars discovered theories that guide people when they criticizing the literature. Therefore we may lay no literature no literary theory and criticism.
                Literary theory is interested in establishing general principles about how literature works and how criticism work. (Peck and Coyle 1984) Peck and Coyle further note that in recent years there has been great surge of such thinking, much of which challenges already established ideas about literature and reject the assumptions inherent in traditional literary theory and literary criticism.
               Literary theory guides lines to literary criticism, not all criticism is sound timely or responsible and not all literary criticism is pertinent is your assignment or usefully to your purposes.  Some critical comments will strike you as plausible. Where as will seem unfounded or  biased. According is Kirszner and Mandell (2004:14), because of these differences in interpretation and evaluation of works among the literary critics this critical theory serves as a guidelines and set standard for good literary criticism.
               The knowledge of literary theory enable critical to do his work efficiently.  This is true as a peoples response to literary text sometimes differ  greatly. Factors such as once personality, life styles, experience, exposure environment. Level of education. May lead people adopt various kind of value judgment and are the react different to text. To avoid the problem of individual difference in respond to literary text, the critic usually relies on guiding principles provided by literary theory.
                Therefore from the fore going discussion we discover that literary criticism do not just work on their own independently, rather they rely on the theoretically principles which help them to maintain certain standard. Thus literature is the mother of literary theory and criticism.
