This field was conducted at Masumuni the aim of this field work is to connect the theoritical learining as focused and actual practisce in the steet.



                                                               CHAPTER ONE
1.0   INTRODUCTION
 This field was conducted at Masumuni the aim of this field work is to connect the theoritical learining as focused and actual practisce in the steet.
This report is a part of practical work as per requirement of the istitute of Rural Development planning during  Diploma program.  This report of fieldwork attachment was conducted at Masumuni ward . The first chapter deals with introduction and the reader will see the socio economic profile of Masumuni ward.  The second chapter discusses  student experience in the field as well as conclusion and recommendation in the third chapter.

This field attachment  practices  can therefor  be referred to as the training  given to the This field attachment  practices  can therefor  be referred to as the training  given to the student  aiming at improving the ability and capability to the student to capture the new knwledge and apply it in the daily life.  Majority of students conducted the field attachment purposeful for improving their knowledge and make some applications of what their learnt by the time being when they are at different  levels of study .field attachment is performed with the aim ensuring the deliverance of the working experience based on the competence and faithful with respect to the new skills governed by the student concerned during the time being when he/she at his/her area of study.
This field attachment was conducted  from 15 july up to 06 september 2019 at masumuni ward. This report display the activities and duties perfomed by the ward, how the ward organizes its resources, the level of community development, success and challenges facing masumuni ward  and suggested possible solutions to those existing challenges.  



1:1 AREA PROFILE
1.1.1 HISTORY OF THE WARD
             Masumuni ward was established in 2015 wich is found in mbinga district. This wrd is found in mbinga town. this ward has the population of 8554 number of the people and also  there is 3324 house hold. This ward has four street  which are Masumuni, Mji mwema, Tanki la maji A and Tanki la maji B.  The first ward executive  known as  Raphael b kambanga, The first ward executive officer is known as veneranda njelekela and community development officer is known as Upendo kakwembe.

In Masumuni ward  there are different tribes which had been living in this place forexample there is Ngoni tribe, Matengo tribe, nyasa tribe, Bena tribe  but the origini tribe of masumuni ward is Matengo tribe.

1.2      PHYSICAL FEATURE
1.2.1 VEGETATION
In Masumuni ward there is natural vegetation  and artificial  vegetation. The artificial vegetation helps the community members to get shadow and also to get various crops for food and business forexample are those tree for mangoes and oranges. And the crops which are cultvate in  masumuni Ward specifically at tank la maji B mtaa are cofee, beans, maize and different vegetables.

1.2.2 RAINFALL
              The climate of mbinga district is characterized by heavy rainfal. Masumuni ward experiences one rainfal season between november up to april in this months the rainfail is so heavy and also may untill june there is low rainfall which occurs in this short rainfall duration.

1.2.3  TEMPERATURE
                  The  temperature of mbinga district is cold

1.3    SOCIAL ASPECTS
            HEALTH
                 Having a good health is very important in bringing development in the community. In masumuni ward health service is available. in this ward malaria is very common the community members prevent it by using mosquitoes net is advice to be used by pregnant mothers and children. And also the common disease in this ward  HIV/AIDS. The government (ward officer) try to avoid it by providing education to people about causes, effects and how to avoid this diseases.

1.3.2  EDUCATION
                 This is also a social aspect where by in masumuni ward is provided into two ways where by there private schools both secondary and primary schools and also there government schools.

1.3.3 WATER
              People of masumuni ward they do use water from water pipes and also there is deep wells and also there is presence of river which enable people to get water.

1.3.4 ROAD
            In masumuni ward most of roads are tamck roads where by this ward is nearby kiliman ward for the south ward, aluwaita ward for the northern side, Mateka ward for east side and Mbambi ward for western side.

1.4      ECONOMIC ASPECTS
1.4.1 AGRICULTURE
            In masumuni ward most of the mitaa are not involved in cultivation of crops and some of people are keeping animals and birds special for food and busness. those who plactice amall scale agriculture at tanki la maji B mtaa are using hand hoe.the crops cultvated are coffee, beans, maize.

1.4.2 BUSINESS
            The business activities that are taking place at masumuni ward are small and big shops where people can buy things for their own use. Also people at masumuni ward are involved in different  business like bar, shops, carpenters, restaurant, small motorcycle and cars garage, laboratory butcher. As show in  table three below

1.5     CULTURE ASPECT
1.5.1 TRADITIONAL BELIEFS
              Resident of masumuni ward believe on islamic and christianity religions. And the members in the ward respect the religion of each other because all of them belief on one god. The lage number found in masumuni ward believe on christianity.
1.5.2 FOODS
              The types of food  that people of masumuni ward preferred are Ugali, Rice, Beans and also fish which are found at lake nyasa.

1.5.3  FESTIVALS
            Community members at masumuni ward practice different type of ceremonies including government ceremonies, religious and also kioda and mganda which are tribe ceremonies.

1.5.4    FUNCTION OF THE WARD EXECUTIVE OFFICER
         To ensure peace and security
                  All leaders in the ward ensure that all people are safe together with their properities.
         To prepare the minute during the meeting for conducting the planning activities to implementation.
         To ensure that there is  cooperation between community members and leaders so as to bring suitable development.
         To ensure collection of revenue in the ward which will helps in development of ward and in national level.


                                                         CHAPTER TWO
2.0   PRESANTATION OF EXPRIENCE FROM THE FIELD
2.1    Dscription of student involvement in the field station activities
             I have been assigned to work under community development officer in relation to their department such as mtaa executive officer, Ward executive officer (WEO), Ward education officer (WAEO), Ward health officer (WHO),  Ward Agriculture officer (WAO)


THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ACTIVITIES PERFOMED DURING MY PRACTICAL TRAINING.
         Provide national identification card
                different people come to take their identification cards where by i wrote their names on a special book  so as to be used as an evidence when they will lose it.
         Provide identification letters
              I was learning about writing different idetification letters fareexample those people who was in need of opening bank account was writing for them
         To keep record in the file
                              Also was learning on how to keeps records so as to be used of the future where it will be needed.
         solving mariage conflict
                   i was leaning on how to solve this conflicts. Where by one side start to express the problems which him/her gets in the marriage, and the next side express hi/her views then at the end try to put their views together and make decision.
         To put a rubber stamp on various letters
                    i was learning how to put a rubber stamp on various letters from different sector like from private companies. for example when some one wants to get a rubber stamp in a letter from bank you should put it in passport and also you should put your signature and rubber stamp.
         Attending the mtaa development meeting.
                 I was learing on how to bring community members together and have meeting this i was doing with mtaa executive officer and also at the end of meeting i learned how to write the reports of it.
         Filling loans forms
                   I was learning how to fill loans forms where most of the come from different places within the ward so as to gets loans from different institutions like NMB BANK, CRDB and NBC

2.2       ACHIEVEMENT AND CHALLENGES FACED BY MASUMUNI WARD
2.2.1   Achievement registers by the ward
                The ward achived to promote education about the use of mosquito nets especially to pregnant womens and childrens.
The ward have successsfulk in reducing  proverty, ignorance and diseases in the community. This is by establishing  different groups which deals with development frexample VICOBA, SACCOS and other groups which deals with development activities.
Masumuni ward achived to buld different blocks in the schools forexample  the building of hostel at makita secondary school.
Masumuni ward achived to good relation between leaders and community members.
Masumuni ward achived to creat way wich helps and encourage guidence and counseling  of the people who are living with HIV/AIDS.

2.2.2   CHALLENGES FACING MASUMUNI WARD
i.         There are poor work facilities which some times lead to difficult in perfomance work of the office.
ii.       there is no goog cooperation between leaders and community members some times in meetings only small number of people  attend the meeting.
iii.      There is no enough tools for the community members especially during the saturday at the end of months where by all people have to involve in general cleanliness the tools present are not enough.

                                                           CHAPTER THREE
3.0      CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
3.1      CONCLUSION
                      During my field study  i learn the different problems are being solved so as to bring peace and harmony in the community, and also to punish those who keep the environment dirt is just to make them to follow rules and regulastion which have been made by the government and also the community members  should known their rights.

3.2  RECOMMENDATIONS
In the ward cooperation should be encouraged  so as to bring about suitable development ward level and the nation level.
       Also the people from masumuni ward they should  work together so as  to make sure they finish to build their dispensary.
