Introduction
The arusha declarations, this was an idea of transforming Tanganyika into a socialism country. This idea was derived by Mwalimu Julius Kambarage  Nyerere during 1967.Also Nyerere declaring that Tanzania should develop along the principal of socialism and Self reliance.
  The key of Arusha declaration as follows:
A) Socialism,is a populist economic and political system based on public ownership also know as ownership of the means of the production those means including the machine,tools and factory used to produce goods to satisfy human needs.In Arusha declaration discussed about the adaptation of socialism because this period Tanzania under go changes after the Independence. so, needed to make some reforms and seem the socialism was a good policy in these reforms in Tanzania,Due to the following reasons:
      .To fight against neo colonialism;This was a policy introduced in Tanzania and other countries granted Independence with their colonizers.In Tanzania after Independence the neo colonialism was still present. So in Arusha declaration they adopt socialism so as to stop this neo colonialism because since Independence people lived with indicator of neo colonialism so socialism adopted and against this policy of neo colonialism.
.To avoid clases; socialism ideology is not preffer the classes among the people so it preffer to live communally among them.example Mwalimu jk nyerere announced the policy of socialism in order to all people to live without classes it means that all private sector were nationalized to be a public owners.
.To improve unity and solidarity;The socialism help to improve the unity among the people, because after Arusha declaration 1967. After the announced the socialism ideology led to the people to live together means that socialism policy is going together with the unity and solidarity among the people.
.To eradicate poverty; Mwalimu jk nyerere announced that socialism policy in order to reduce poverty means that all Major means of production must be under public owners so as to allow people to get enough area for production and people working together for more productive food.
B) self reliance policy; is the ability to do things and Make decisions by yourself without needing other people to help you example self reliance of growing your own food.
The policy of self reliance,we are at war,TANU is involved in the war against poverty and oppression in our country.the struggle is aimed at moving the people of Tanzania and people of Africa as whole from a state of poverty to a state of prosperity.we have been oppressed a great deal,we have been exploited a great deal and we have been disregarded a great deal, it is our weakness that has led to being oppressed, exploited and disregarded. Now we want a revolution, a revolution which brings an end to our weakness so that we are never again exploited, oppressed or hummiliated. They brief our five years development plan aimed at: _more food.
         _more education
        _better health services
But the we have put emphasis upon is Money it's as if we said in the next five years we want to have more food, more education and better health services and in order to achieve this things we shall spend Euro 25000000.
In education nyerere introduced education for self reliance means that Tanzanians development should depends on her natural resources.This concept is also about self confidence,Independence ,responsibilities and democratic movement.so Tanzanian seem to be lacking this elements as revealed by the problems facing the citizens including poverty, ignorance,moral decadence,false believe, social disntergretion, economic dependence, exploitation and social injustice.
The aims of this education was to equipt leaners with knowledge skills and attitude for tackling societal problem. Also to prepare the youths for work in Tanzania's predominantly agricultural society and to know, appreciate and develop culture of Tanzania that preserves the nation tradition, individual freedom, responsibility, tolerance and respect.so this education it shape the general concept of self reliance because it deal with all aspects social, economic and political issues.how to build new Tanzania since Independence.
