COMMUNICATION THEORY
Day two assignment.
The module which am understanding is the one which
state that ANALYSING SELECTED COMMUNICATION THEORY IN TEACHING AND
LEARNING. In this module we study about
oh how we analyze the selected communication during learning and teaching process,
and also it consist with three sub-parts.
The first sub-part is Theories of Communication in
this part deals with different theories which explain about on how
communication are, by starting to know
the meaning of communication which means that the act of conveying information
from one person to another or from one group to another through the use of
signs, symbols, and words.
Also when we talk about Communication theory deals with the technology of the transmission
of information between people and machines or machines and machines.(Roobert
Coover 1984). So according to Roobert is
explain the different theories which explain how communication is. a)
Actor-Network Theory this suggest that human and non human are equally in
succes of technological innovation.
b) Adaptive structuration Theory deals with groups and organizations create
rules and resources which are defined as structure.
c)Communication accommodation Theory which deals
with when people accommodate their communication styles to others.
d) Cognitive Dissonance Theory deals with
pschological conflict that results from beliefs or attitudes.
e) social learning
Theory
f) social exchange Theory
g) muted Group
Theory
h) Face
Negotiation Theory and the last but not in list
Cultivation Theory. All of this it explain on how communication is.
Also another part is Selected Communication in this part is deals with the selecting of
communication to be used in learning and teaching process for example as a
teacher in class should select the communication which are used when teaching
either by using non verbal communication or verbal communication in order to
make clear undeestanding of all student in classroom also it contain the information to the device
based on a correlation for the device and transmitting the transmission of thr
device.The last part is about characteristics of effective communication in the
classroom.
Effective communication is all about delivering an
information unambiquously. So that the receiver can decode it correctly. (Scott M.Cutlip ) this is very important to use in classroom
during teaching and learning process
because as a teacher must choose the hints which must follow in the class durin
teaching such as respect to both teacher and student when communicate also
teacher must repeat the message derivered to student in different ways for more
clarification. "Scott Cutlip also
explain different characteristics of effective communication in classroom.
a) Completeness, the effective communication must be
complete in order to make understanding for the student a sentence must be
complete
b) Consideration the communication must consider the
receiver background and points of view.
c) Courtesy means when communicating must respect the receiver’s culture
values and beliefs. d) Correctness a
language use must be correcfcinterms of grammar and syntax.

Concreteness the message should be fact information.
Module
which am not understand and is complex to me is managing effective use of
overhead projectors (otp/ohps) in education. and its part first types of otps and the second part is setting up an otps.
