Arusha declaration

Arusha declaration
Arusha Declaration was declayed 1967 when the leadership of country realize if you want create a dependent economy you must stop dependent economy the intention is to criticize vthe capitalism system and to check out capitalists by adapting new ideology socialism and self reliance as key foundations also Arusha Declaration aimed to challenging the capitalists way of development which actually Nyerere have declaration want to check out capitalists development in Tanzania
THE KEY FOUNDATIONS OF ARUSHA DECLARATION
Socialism(ujamaa)
This was a social and economic policy developed and implemented in Tanzania by president Julius Kambarage Nyerere (1922–1999) between 1964 and 1985. Based on the idea of collective farming and the "villagization" of the countryside, ujamaa also called for the nationalization of banks and industry and an increased level of self-reliance at both an individual and national level.
Nyerere set out his policy in the Arusha Declaration of Feb. 5, 1967. The process started slowly and was voluntary at first, but by the end of the 1960s, there were only 800 or so collective settlements. In the 1970s, Nyerere's reign became more oppressive, as he began to force people to leave the cities and move to the collective villages. By the end of the 1970s, there were over 2,500 of these villages: but things weren't going well in them.
Self reliance
This was the  policy which emphasized during the Arusha declaration it started that everyone in the state whatever his or her actual occupation was workers and that all means of production would be nationalized for common good also in this case the self reliance based in intruded a leadership code to promote equality among all Tanzania citizens this code was one of prevent party leadership party and well to individuals from forming privileged exploitative groups, Also self reliance go hand with our policy of socialism in order to prevent exploitation  it is necessary for everybody to work and to live onhis own labour and to distribute the nation weath rairly, it necessary for everybody to work to the maximum of his ability.likewise no body should be allowed to loiter in towns or villages without doing work which would enable his or her to be self reliant without exploiting relatives
Effects of Arusha Declaration to the individuals and whole society
Ujamaa was intended to recreate nuclear families and engage the small communities in an "economy of affection" by tapping into the traditional African attitudes, while at the same time introducing essential services and modern technological innovations for the rural population that was now the majority. But traditional ideals of how families operated no longer matched the reality of the Tanzanians. The traditional devoted female domestic guardian of the family rooted in the village was contrary to the actual lifestyles of women—and maybe the ideal never had worked. Instead, women moved in and out of working and raising children throughout their lives, embracing diversification and flexibility to provide personal security.

At the same time, although young men complied with the official orders and moved to the rural communities, they rejected the traditional models and distanced themselves from the older generation of male leaders within their family.
Created a high literacy rate socialism or ujamaa left high rate of ignorant people in Tanzania due to high dependant economy and during that time there was poor infastructure like school and road and few numbers educated man so through such situations they left high number of people who does not know to read and to write so this is how the socialism affect individuals in the society
infant mortality through access to medical facilities and education so in this case many children  die before five year due to poor health services which provide in the hospital as results of socialism or ujamaa
Transportation networks declined drastically through neglect, the socialism was left the major means of  transport and communication poor as roads and railways was left poor so due to such situations the many people was affected hence the roads which are used to transport raw material was left poor.
Industry and banking were crippled also this is among of the effect of ujamaa in Tanzania the industry and banking were crippled due to the poor suculation of money this means that there was high debit and great economic depression in Tanzania this was how people of Tanzania was affected by ujamaa
Left the country dependent on international aid,The ujamaa was left the country to depend international aids as the Tanzania budget depending from international aids rather than using resources available in the country this is due to the effect left by socialism or ujamaa in Tanzania until now the still the country depend from international aids
Conclusion
Generally Arusha Declaration was sort of vision for Tanzania that set out economy and social priority in any economy want all sphere of country to develop because the  economy of the country in the base of activities politically socially and politically.
